Immortal, Perhaps
I enjoyed the different interpretations of my previous poem, so I felt the urge to write another one in a similar vein, the only difference being that this has been done consciously, and hence rather poorly. So, let me know what you think this poem is trying to convey! :)
First, my Argus-eyed friend,
you must cleanse yourself
of the very earth that
nourished you.
Strip the
shabby brown coat
off your pale body.
Submit to the
purification bath
and emerge
soft and golden.
Lose yourself.
Disguise yourself
in the brilliance of
the red, the yellow, the green.
Dissolve in the
salt of your tears.
And then,
the world will marvel,
and ingest you
into immortality -
only you will know it not.
